We use highly trained Austrian Shepherd herding dogs to safely and humanely remove geese from commercial and residential properties in the Kansas City metro area. Our proven techniques are approved by PETA, The Humane Society and US Fish and Wildlife service. Using working herding dogs encourages geese to leave the property quickly and stay away for longer than any other methods used to harass geese. Coyote cut-outs, blinking lights and loud noises do not keep geese off of properties. The geese quickly become conditioned to harassment techniques that don't pose an immediate threat to their life. Herding dogs emulate a predator threat perfectly, while completely in control of a human handler and trained never to touch, harm or injure a goose in any way.
Geese feces usually contain the parasites cryptosporidium, E. coli, giardia, coliform, and campylobacter. Crytosporidium poses the most serious health hazard, since it causes cryptosporidiosis, an illness with the following symptoms: watery diarrhea. dehydration.

Children are at great risk from goose droppings for two big reasons.
Seniors have a much harder time shrugging off common illnesses than their juniors. Luckily years of life experience and wisdom usually results in caution, limiting the risk of a serious infection (unlike children). However, if an infection gets a chance to take hold, the results can be devastating. A population of Canada Geese residing at a senior living community could dramatically increase this risk.
Most healthy pets have a robust immune system. However, pets (especially dogs) enjoy exploring the world through their tongues. If you’ve ever taken your dog to a park with a goose population, you’ve more than likely had to stop your dog from quickly devouring goose droppings. Dogs can easily acquire Coccidia and Giardia from this nasty habit. Dogs might also drink water contaminated by goose droppings, magnifying that risk. Always keep you dogs on a leash to prevent them from snacking on unsanitary things, and make sure you provide them with fresh water when they are thirsty.
Most goose attacks on humans result in minor or no injuries, but severe injuries can happen. Goose attacks have resulted in broken bones, head trauma, and emotional distress. Many of these injuries occur when the person tries to avoid an attacking goose and trips and falls.

We charge by the month and not by the amount of visits. Each site can present different challenges, so its important for us to visit your site to determine the most cost effective monthly program we can offer. Things we consider include the amount of water on the site, if the geese are currently nesting on the site and how hard it will be for our dogs to safely navigate the site.

Geese leave behind 1 to 1.5 pounds of droppings per bird, per day. So even just a few geese can cause a HUGE mess!! Geese are intensive grazers and eat up to 4lbs of grass per bird per day. Geese eat up all your grass and deposit all their nitrogen rich manure into the surrounding lakes and streams. This in turn causes increased algae bloom and decreasing oxygen levels for fish and other living organisms.
KC Goose Control uses highly trained herding dogs to keep geese off of commercial and residential properties all around the KC Metro area. Anywhere geese are a problem we can help!
